This 3 Ingredient Lemon Yogurt Fruit Dip is the perfect addition to your springtime picnics. And don’t worry if it’s still cold where you are; it’s perfect for snacking while watching the basketball tournament this weekend, too!
The recipe, affectionately referred to as Yo-Yo dip, originated with my mother and was quickly whipped up any time the teachers at her school were celebrating something in the teacher’s lounge. Baby shower? Yo-Yo Dip. Birthday celebration? Yo-Yo Dip. Retirement or school ending for the Summer? You guessed it….Yo Yo Dip.
It’s ridiculously easy, and incredibly delicious.
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 container (8 ounces) lemon yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- fresh fruit, for serving
- Combine the cream cheese, yogurt, and lemon juice and beat at low speed until smooth and creamy. Chill until ready to serve.
It’s also pretty darn perfect as the temperatures begin to warm up and you need all the fruit hydration you can get. For us here in the deep South, we quickly go from appropriate picnic temps to oh my goodness, where’s the nearest swimming pool temps. And in which case, if this Lemon Yogurt Fruit Dip is involved sign me right on up.
Currently, this weekend is calling for temperatures in the low 80’s. If you don’t picnic soon, you’re going to be quickly out of luck.
Have a great weekend! I hope it involves something delicious.
