Hey Ya’ll, I’m Aimee!
A graduate of Louisiana College, I once haphazardly traded in a career in corporate insurance for the aprons, ovens and comforts of my kitchen. True story.
Armed with merely a recipe box full of family favorites, a KitchenAid mixer wedding gift and a shiny new sewing machine, I set out to master the art of crafting, baking and apron making….proving that if I could do it, anyone could. Some days I bake, some days I craft, but everyday I create.

Southern From Scratch serves as my love letter to the South and encompasses everything that makes my life Southern sweet; the food, the culture, the people, the building of our home (from scratch!)…. And of course, SEC football. While an occasional short cut may be implemented here and there, my heart longs for those old-fashioned, time honored recipes passed down from our loved ones that didn’t come from a box. In fact, my most prized possession is my grandmother’s sorority cookbook from the 1970’s and the handwritten notes tucked inside; it’s the true inspiration behind Southern From Scratch.
So sit back and relax as I pour your lemonade, fluff your porch pillows, and share with you the recipes and hospitality for which the South is known.
