When it comes to holiday entertaining, there are things that you are good at and there are things that you simply are not. If you try to get gold stars on all the things, not only will you fall short, but you’ll overwhelm yourself in the process.
Personally, while baking is something that I’m decent at, bread making doesn’t rank very high on my resume. I’m sure if I devoted more time to the task I’d get better and perhaps enjoy it, but for now, I leave it to the professionals. Holiday stress can be a beast y’all and there’s no point in stressing about the rolls when the inspirational lady behind Sister Schubert’s, Patricia “Sister” Barnes’ has spent years perfecting the science of dinner roll making.
Simply remove from the bag, brush on a little butter and pop into the oven for less than 10 minutes. Done. Easy peasey and the rolls come out light, fluffy and delicious each time without fail.
Whip up this Homemade Cinnamon Honey Butter to serve alongside the rolls, and no one will even think twice as to whether or not you slaved in the kitchen waiting for your yeast to rise.
Nope, they’ll just remark about how crafty and talented you are while savoring the combination of Sister Schubert’s rolls and your decadent Honey Butter.
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- Combine the butter, sugar, honey, cinnamon and salt in the bowl of an electric mixer using the paddle attachment- whip until smooth. Serve immediately or cover and store in the refrigerator (no longer than 2 weeks). Allow to sit out at room temperature for about 30 minutes prior to serving for easy spreading.
Serve in mason jars and even send home guests with some Homemade Cinnamon Honey Butter of their own.
Even go so far as to hand stitch a little heart on top your lid fabric.
You realize that crafting is your strength and bread baking is well, not and you’ve embraced it. Not only embraced it, but found a way to wow your guests with your semi-homemade ways.

Do you do it all yourself, or do you have a semi-homemade tip and trick to share?
